Greetings again from Massachusetts. I
posted yesterday about Deval Patrick's people-powered, grassroots (and netroots) run for Governor. Read yesterday's post for background on Patrick and on his two Democratic rivals. Read on for today's update. Click below if you already know what you want to do!

Last night the final debate among the three Democrats aired on local TV. I posted a few thoughts
on my blog, Blue Mass. Group, earlier today. Bottom line: no one hit a home run, though Tom Reilly successfully repaired some of the damage he did to himself in last week's debate, and all the candidates left the TV studio not positioned terribly differently from where they were when they went in.
As kos posted a couple of hours ago, Patrick did very well in the latest Survey USA poll. But that poll is already nearly a week old, and things change fast in races like this. No one should take anything for granted in this race. Chris Gabrieli in particular has recently shown a penchant for going quite negative against Patrick (recently referring to him as "out of the mainstream" and to his supporters as "rabid"), and his unlimited money supply (he is fabulously wealthy, having already dumped about $8 million of his own money into this primary) will allow him to carpet-bomb the airwaves with whatever messages he chooses over the next few days.
The fact that Patrick is still standing at all, much less leading in recent polls, against a long-time Beacon Hill guy like Tom Reilly and someone with as much money as Chris Gabrieli speaks volumes about the power of the grassroots movement he has built. But this is the homestretch. Deval Patrick needs your help now. Thanks.
